A Message from Our Foundation

The Handle Hard Better Foundation was created in honor of Cory Wiederin — a husband, father, and friend who faced Stage 4 cancer with courage, optimism, and remembrance. Cory had a deep desire to create meaningful moments with his family and was intentional on how he lived & loved. Walking beside him taught us how heavy and disorienting cancer can be, and how important it is to find beauty even in the nightmare.

We pray this gift can be one small piece of that beauty for your family.

Eligibility

To ensure we can serve families well and consistently, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A parent in the household has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently going through treatment, palliative care, or hospice care.

• The family currently resides in Iowa.

• Diagnosis must be verified by an oncology provider.

• Families are eligible to receive the Handle Hard Better Foundation gift one time.
